Join us for a reception and documentary screening for Artists-in-Absentia. Oakhill Prison Humanities Project volunteer instructors will introduce the program and exhibition. We will also screen a short documentary by local filmmaker Marc Kornblatt chronicling the creation of the exhibition; this film will provide further insight into the works on display and the men that made them. "Artists-in-Absentia," features the writing, art, and music of men from Oakhill Correctional Institution. The artists signed up for free evening classes through the Oakhill Prison Humanities Project. The Artists in Absentia exhibit will be up May 3-31, on various wallspace throughout the Library and our display case. Visit the website for Artists in Absentia http://www.artistsinabsentia.com/ for more on the exhibit and digital versions of the creative works on display.
