The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce is always in search of ways to positively impact the Oregon area business community. We recognize that every day you work hard at your business and you shouldn't expect anything less from your Chamber.
As Oregon's downtown has become more and more a destination for visitors and citizens alike, we have noticed an increased need for parking on the northwest side of the intersection at Janesville and Main Streets. Parking in front of the South Main Street businesses is often full and parking behind those same buildings, though utilized, could surely look and function better.
As the Village prepares for the 2013 budget process The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce will be asking the Village to utilize TIF funds in order to make significant long term improvements to the rear parking lot on the northwest corner of Janesville and Main.
We would like gather input from you and your fellow downtown business owners and so we would like to invite you to a listening session at the old Masonic Temple on South Main Street (currently home to Main Street Stuio) at 5pm on August 16th. This session will be an opportunity for you to tell us what you need in order to make that parking situation work in the long term for you, for your customers and employees, as well as our residents and visitors.
Sincerely,
Brett J. Frazier
