An intimate small-group clay experience with Sophia Magdala centered on handbuilding using the pinch technique. The focus is on process and sensory engagement — clay is the medium, not the end goal. Here, clay becomes the medium for attention and form, inviting participants to slow down, connect with the material, and experience the meditative rhythm of creation.
Through demonstration, guided practice, and personalized support, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of handbuilding while cultivating intentional form-making. The emphasis is not on technical perfection but on thoughtful exploration, sensory engagement, and the joy of working with one’s hands.
The session is intentionally paced and artfully structured to create a cohesive, memorable experience. Groups are limited to four participants, ensuring a focused and intimate environment where each person can fully engage with the clay and the creative process.
All finishing stages — including drying, firing, and glazing — are completed by the instructor after the workshop, allowing participants to take home a beautifully finished functional bowl.
