Local nursery partners with recycling company to fill semi trucks with plastics in a major recycling effort.
Winterland Nursery and Meyer Industries will join together to coordinate and produce the Fourth Annual Nursery Plastic Recycling Day on Tuesday August 6th, 2013. Last year they more than filled two semi trailers with recyclable plastics, and this year aim to increase that amount. More than 40 different horticulture professionals participated in recycling plastics
during the 2012 campaign, which would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. With the recent uptick in landscape construction, it is more important than ever for even small businesses to spearhead and support recycling efforts.
Once again this year, Winterland Nursery Inc will give local landscapers, greenhouses, garden centers, and gardeners, the opportunity to join forces in a major plastic recycling effort. Large amounts of plastics are used in all phases of nursery and greenhouse production. Winterland would like to help everyone recycle plastic pots, flats, paks, edging, jugs, drums, and trays.
Tuesday, August 6th will be a busy day at Winterland. They are expecting to have lots of trucks coming and going, and many busy hands sorting and stacking as the deliveries arrive. Please stop in to see them in action, even if you don't have plastics to be recycled.
