Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce Announces Discontinuation of Oregon Summer Fest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 8, 2025

Oregon, WI – The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Oregon Summer Fest, the long-standing community festival traditionally held each June, will be discontinued.

After much discussion and careful consideration, the Chamber has determined that the event is no longer sustainable. Rising costs, decreased participation, and a lack of volunteers have made it increasingly difficult to continue operating Summer Fest in its current form.

“Summer Fest has been a beloved tradition in our community for many years, and this decision was not made lightly,” said Tara Ingalls, Board President. “We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and attendees who have supported this event over the decades. However, we’ve reached a point where the resources required to plan and execute Summer Fest far exceed what is available.”

In recent years, there have not been enough volunteers, leaving a small group of dedicated individuals to carry the bulk of the workload. The time and effort required from so few have simply become unsustainable.

At this time, there are no plans for a 2026 event. However, the Chamber will continue to explore other ways to bring the community together and celebrate the unique spirit of Oregon.

“We know this news will come as a disappointment to many,” the Chamber Board added, “but we’re hopeful it opens the door to fresh ideas and more sustainable opportunities to engage the community.”

The Oregon Chamber of Commerce remains committed to supporting local businesses and fostering community growth and engagement throughout the year.
